Race in Leudelange June 1. 2008

As there was no women’s race in Belgium , France and Germany close enough to Luxemburg and the U17 race in Leudelange was run an a nice hilly lap around my home, I decided to start there. We were 8 women and 32 boys on start. As usual the strongest boys from Uc Dippach broke away in the second lap.Behind there were attacks, but no serious chase was possible as the other teams didn’t really work together. Anyway, in the third climb to the finish, we were only two women to stay in the bunch. As this bunch was sometimes split and I stayed always in the front part and Chantal Hoffmann had some problems in the climb. I was quite sure to win the women’s race. But in the second-last lap I got cramps( It was very hot!) and was happy to finish 16th overall and 1st women.

My son, who is a first year junior did the two long races with the elite-men (140km each!)Saturday and Sunday and even if he did not finish , he did a nice job. (See his own report!)

My daughter Trixy has not been racing last time, she passed her graduation and the national championships will be her own race.

My next races are on the weekend 7th and 8th in Belgium.

See you there
