Race in Romsée (BEL) June 17th

In wait for the man’s U23 UCI semi-classic Romsée-Stawelot-Romsée, there was a women’s race on the final circuit of the semi-classic. The lap was rather hilly and technical, but a bit dangerous too because of the “ralentisseurs” on both sides of an already narrow road and a lack of security persons around the circuit.

After several attacks in the first laps, the bunch had already shrunk, when Martine Bras (VVPL) attacked in the fifth lap and everyone hesitated to pursuit her. In the following laps, I remained with 12 other chasers behind her.

Three laps before the arrival, when the was still 40” delay on the leader, Ludivine Henrion (AAD) attacked and again noone wanted to lead a pursuit, trying to keep reserves for the final sprint in the uphill. Ludi joined Martine and won this race, in the sprint for the 3rd place I finished on the 5th place, so I made a 7th place in the race.

Thursday we are leaving for the Giro del Trentino with my team (and then I should be prepared to defend my champion title, even if I have two very tough concurrents

See you there

Cheers
