First World cup race 2009/2010 in Treviso (ITA)

Summer-cross in sunny Italy, where my team Fenixs is located.

The weather conditions were absolutly perfect, maybe it was even a little bit too hot (26°C) for cyclo-cross so that the course around the lovely site “Lago le Bandie” near Spresiano in the “Provinzia di Treviso” was dry, dusty and very fast.

After a disastrous start, I entered the first lap in second last position, it took me a whole lap to find my rhythm. As the race went on, I continued to catch back and double riders in front of me and I had really good intermediate lap times in the last three laps.

Finally I finished 24^th, only a few second down from 20^th place and some 4 Min 10 Sec from the untouchable winner Katherine Compton from USA, who dominated this race right from the start.

I finished my first World cup and collected my first UCI points for this season and I really hope this result will be a good Omen this years cyclo-cross season.

My next race will be this Sunday in Dippach (LUX)
