Freezy race - good result !

This was the first cyclo-cross for this winter under really cold weather conditions

 We had start at 10.30  already, so I had to get up very early and the cold dindn't really inspire me to get out of bed.

At the start, I was still a bit frozen and missed the good group for the podium positions. But I wanted to finish as fast as possible to get a warm shower, so I got rid of Martina Giger in my wheel in the fourth lap, trying to catch back the Swiss Champion Yasmin Achermann and an other strong swiss, Katrin Leumann lying about one minute in front of me.

I came a bit close, but in the icy wind it was very difficult to close the gap, so I finished on a good 5th place just 50" from Leumann, 47" from Achermann and 2'12" from the winner Helen Wyman (GB - Kona), who did a very strong race beeing in front of Luciene Chainel right from the start.

This week I'll have to make an acclimatization to the Sibirian weather conditions, as the previews for this weekend in Kalmthout (World-Cup)are really icy!

Maybe I can install a heating on my bike for that purpose or have some Hot Wine (Glühwein) before start (lol).
