A week after my disappointing result at the nationals, I did a regional race in Steenockerzeel, Belgium. The result in itself isn’t that great, but I took pleasure in racing, which I didn’t last weekend.

Perfect weather conditions, sunshine with some clouds and around 20 degrees. We were around 80 riders on the start. Right after the start, some attacks made the race nervous and resulted in a crash in the second lap, which I luckily managed to avoid.

The attacks continued during all the 14 laps of the race, but the bunch gave no «wild-card»: no attack went through

I tried two more break-aways in the last two laps, but no avail.

The final sprint was very hectic, there was a lot of fighting for positions in the last kilometres. I took no risk here, and finished 34th.
