First serious test after my forced pause end of November. I had no results previously this season, so I had to start from the last line and this left me in the last positions entering the  first mud part. After the first lap, I found myself quite alone but in the second lap, I caught back some riders and continued, with a british girl, being always just a few seconds behind a couple of riders in front of us.

Unfortunately, the time-schedule for the junior race was quite short, so I was stopped by officials entering my last lap. I was a bit disappointed, as I was still a couple of minutes away from being lapped by the winner Marianne Vos. But I’m still happy with my race since it was the first one on this level for this season.

I really enjoyed the lap in the middle of Diegem, which was a nice variation of off-road and road sections. Also, my daily short running sessions with my dog Hannpy helped me a lot in the mud and the sand, where I didn’t lose any time but even gained some meters.

I have to say that I had fun (which is the most important thing really!) and if I’m still racing next year, I’ll come back!
