Trainingcamp in Sicily Though Sicily lies in the south and the south is usually associated with warmth and sunshine but not this time. During the landing, I noticed that the hills around Trapani and Palermo were covered in a layer of snow, oh joy and I forgot my skis at home. On top of it (cerise sur le gâteau as the french would say), there was no heating in the house where we stayed, it was rather cold inside (around 10 degrees) and we slept in the warmest clothes we got, like fat onions. Fortunatly, Andrea managed to get us small stoves to warm the rooms on Sunday so that we wouldn’t end as Fenixs ice-cream. The training group was nice and I enjoyed the landscape very much, also the roads were nearly empty if one excludes the few bigger roads, which was very convenient. Even if we had some rain falling every now and then and we’re forced to do only very short distances during two days, I did more than a thousand kilometers in ten days which is a good base for the early races of the season.
