“Classe de neige” in Praz s./ Arly (FRANCE): Skiing with a bunch of kids and pedaling in the basement of our hostel The conditions were ideal when we arrived on Saturday the seventh in Praz, there was a lot of fresh-fallen snow and I really enjoyed be able to stand on skis again. I just had to be a little careful and not hit the ground too often (you know what I mean), but there were very few people on the piste so that I could enjoy the speed without the fear of knocking someone out. After five hours of ski, I went down to the basement of the hostel (I really recommend this place warmly: www.valsoleil.com), put on my bikeclothes and sat down on the hometrainer in the fitness-room . I pedaled for another one and a half up to two hours, training intervals on the rolls (which very hard and exhausting after five hours of ski). Everything went just fine with the kids; noone was sick, no accidents of any kind occured, so I could really enjoy my stay. In the evenings the group of adults had a fun time playing “jungle speed”, a game which usually ends with broken fingernails, scratches on the hands, hurting fingers and so on, providing an interestingly physical aspect to the game. Sometimes we were noiser than the kids, which is rather weird. On Friday, Marc came to fetch me and drive me to Pisa, where we both participated on the team presentation at the PARKPRE factory on Saturday afternoon. The next important event will be the “Ronde van Vlaandern” on the 5th of April. See you! Suzie |
