Race in Wortel (B)
There were all in all fifty riders on the start, Catherine, Carine, Zina and I did everything we possibly could to get into a break. Karin was the first to get away with a lituanian girl from Safi (?). We controlled the bunch and by turns countered each attempt of pursuit. Catherine attacked more or less in the half of the race and went away on her own. A few laps from the finish, Zina followed her with a group of four riders and I was the only one left in the main bunch. No other rider wanted to work anymore and so I attemped in vain to go away on my own, but there was always someone who caught me, even if noone seemed to work anymore. In the sprint for the 9th place, my cranks protested and I couldn’t go further down than 52/15. I finished 15th overall, Karin was 2nd, Catherine 3rd and Zina 7th. All in all a very good result for the team!
