Bern: Not my terrain, not my day!

We were standing in the torrid sun at the starting line for about a quarter of an hour, there were about 26° Celsius and the atmosphere was quite humid, all in all very nasty.

The sweat was dripping down along my face and I actually felt very dizzy, I already pictured myself fainting on the spot. I was on the point of calling my husband and D.S. via microphone and beg him to take me out of the race! Nevertheless I started, but felt very bad as soon as we reached the steeper and harder part of the climb and so I quit the race after only 10km and went for a slow ride of the lap, then I went to the feeding zone to get the keys of the camper and I slept in there for the rest of the race, alternately feeling warm and cold.

I seriously hope that I’ll not get sick this week as I still have to do a race in Belgium next week, before two weeks off competition

See you

Suzie
