Final Race of the 2009 World-cup in Nürnberg.

Bad training last weekend but a good race this time! I really wanted to achieve a good result in my last road-race for this year and I think that 33rd place out of a bunch of 83 top riders in the same time as the winner is quite ok.

This year really no break went through, I even tried a few times to get away myself but no avail, the bunch didn’t allow any breaks.

I felt easy during all of the ten laps, so I was in a quite good position for the final sprint when the australian rider Vicky Whitelow suddenly crashed right in front of me in the last kilometer. I avoided the crash, but had to break down completely and lost all my speed, so that I had to struggle to get back into contact with the front group. Even if I got back into that group, my hope of doing a really good place in the top twenty was gone; I was exausted but glad I finished 33rd place anyway.

The result encourages me to go on for yet another season on the road-bike.

Next race will be the cyclocross World-Cup in Treviso (ITA) on the 4th October.
